Fire geese: Max. Mauser stock per year in the Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea (LKN.SH – NPV)

Service-related database for mausing fire geese. From 2010, the maximum numbers of fire geese from counting flights in the area of the Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea National Park will be made available. Fire geese are flightless for a few weeks during the moulting period in summer and are therefore particularly prone to interference. At this time (in the months of July – September) the Brandgos monitoring takes place with 3 comprehensive survey flights in the Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea and provides information about the spatial and temporal distribution of the fire geese. The importance and change of the most important moulting areas can be estimated and evaluated with regard to potential sources of interference. Estimates of stock sizes can also be derived from the data. In addition, the data can distinguish between flightable and non-flightable fire geese. The data of the maximum mouse stock per year (even monitoring years from 2010) are generated from the base table of the brand goose monitoring (ID:B9893F45-BB67-41BE-BC0E-2971785E7E66). For the data of the Max. Mauserstock, the 3 survey flights only show the flight of one year during which the highest number of fire geese was sighted. These data are used to estimate the inventory of fire geese, but do not show the variability of the occurrence throughout the summer.
