For over six hundred years, the Voynich Manuscript (MS 408) has been treated like a book written in a lost language or a secret code. Because researchers have always tried to read it like a regular book, they have hit a dead end. This paper explains, in plain English, a completely different approach. We model the manuscript not as a spoken human tongue, but as a manual instruction book and database sheet designed to calibrate 15th-century analog computing wheels (called volvelles), portable sun-dials (like the 1456 Munich Pocket Sundial), and solar water-heating systems. By using a simple computer script to strip away the artistic framing marks and reading the text rows backwards (from right to left), the words unshuffle into ancient Hebrew tracking instructions that perfectly describe the drawings on the page. 1. Introduction: Shifting the Perspective If you open a modern software manual, you will see a mix of two things: step-by-step instructions that make a machine move, and tables of raw data values. If you try to read a data spreadsheet like a poetic novel, it will sound like nonsense words. This is exactly why the Voynich Manuscript has never been solved. Scribes in the 1400s didn't have digital computers, so they built computers out of overlapping parchment wheels pinned to the page, or portable brass dials. This model treats the manuscript as a dual-state operating manual: 1. State A (The Software Machine): Text lines that act like code to draw specific shapes, lines, and borders on the page. 2. State B (The Database Ledger): Text lines that act like rows of numbers to record measurements, weights, and calendar dates.
