Little is known about the solubility, diffusivity and electrical activity of interstitial hydrogen in beryllium oxide, a material considered for a number of highly demanding applications. We plan to use the positive muon as a model for hydrogen. Existing muon spin rotation experiments show a large "missing fraction" due to thermalisation at early times. We will use muon spin resonance to measure the final fractions in each muon state as a function of temperature, confirm the hyperfine constant as seen in high TF data, and measure any coupling to nuclear moments.
