Movhera - Elétricas do Norte, S.A. Foz-Tua: Fishes – Ecological Monitoring Program [2021-2023]

The dataset contains records of Fishes (Pisces) collected in the River Tua and its tributaries within the Ecological Monitoring Program (2021-2023) of the Exploration Phase of the Foz Tua Hydroelectric Dam, initially promoted by EDP – Energias de Portugal, S.A., subsequently (2021) transferred to Movhera Hidroelétricas do Norte, S.A. Data were collected in the spring/summer of 2021 to 2023 in 16 sampling stations distributed along the river Tua and its main tributaries (14 in lothic system and 2 in lenthic system), from the mouth to about 52 km upstream. The Ecological Monitoring Program (2021-2025) aims to evaluate the impacts of dam construction in the water quality of the river, after the construction process. The two lenthic stations were also used to assess water quality (biologic parameters),within the scope of the EU’s Water Framework Directive.
