Greenhouse gas and N mineralization values are the sum of values from pasture 15 years prior to conversion to energy cane and the sum values for 15 years following the conversion to energy cane. Positive values indicate a flux to the atmosphere and negative values indicate uptake from the atmosphere by the ecosystem. Soil organic matter values are the differences between the last year of energy cane production and the last year of pasture. Total GHG values are the sums of CH4, N2O and total system C flux (calculated in DayCent as the difference between all C uptake and storage versus efflux from respiration) expressed as CO2e. Differences (Δ) represent the values for energy cane minus pasture.
