This data is supplementary material provided alongside, and is a companion to, the paper Dynamics-preserving compression for modal flow analysis Anton Glazkov, Peter Schmid, Journal of Fluid Mechanics, 2024.
This dataset consists of 500 two-dimensional high-resolution snapshots of a flow within a single linear compressor cascade passage, formed by controlled-diffusion airfoils, alongside grid and time-step information. This data was collected as part of the project that was published in Global stability analysis of an idealized compressor blade row. I. Single-blade passage analysis and Global stability analysis of an idealized compressor blade row. II. Multiple-blade interactions, Anton Glazkov, Miguel Fosas de Pando, Peter Schmid, Li He, Phys. Rev. Fluids, 2023, with further details on the precise numerical configuration of the case provided in the above publications. Each snapshot consists of a time-averaged flow field and an instantaneous unsteady field given by pressure, entropy, streamwise and the cross-flow velocity components.
Scripts to read and process the data are given in the repository https://github.com/antongla/fjlt-modal-compression. This repository also serves as a code supplement to the paper Dynamics-preserving compression for modal flow analysis Anton Glazkov, Peter Schmid, Journal of Fluid Mechanics, 2024.
