Leading digital technologies used by the global oil and gas industry 2020

Remote monitoring, mobile platforms, and cloud computing are the most commonly used digital technologies within the oil and gas industry. According to a 2020 survey, over 90 percent of respondents said their company used either of the technologies. By comparison, the two least used technologies by the surveyed companies were blockchain and autonomous transport, at 23 and 14 percent respectively. The same group of respondents rated the ability to change quickly enough as the greatest challenge to digital tech adoption in their industry.
