资源简介:
This study investigates microbial community dynamics in Orbicella faveolata colonies affected by stony coral tissue loss disease (SCTLD) across two regions of Florida's Coral Reef. A total of 270 samples were collected from both SCTLD-affected and unaffected colonies over three timepoints, tracking disease progression. Results demonstrate significant differences in microbial community composition between affected and unaffected colonies, with temporal shifts also influencing these patterns. Although no bacterial orders were uniquely associated with disease status, findings suggest that microbial communities are responsive to disease-related stress, emphasizing the complexity of coral disease dynamics and the need for further research into microbial roles in SCTLD.
