Whole Genome Sequencing of Chinese goose

Goose is one of the most important poultry for human being. Wild geese are regarded as the ancestors of modern domestic geese and present grey plumage. After domestication, geese have both white and grey feathers. To elucidate the genetic mechanisms involved in the formation of white and grey plumage in geese, we re-sequenced the whole genome of 18 geese from 6 populations including white and grey goose breeds, with an average sequencing depth of 9.81X per individual.
