Semiquantitative overview of efferent projections from the orbitofrontal, posterior parietal and insular cortices in rat (v1)

This dataset contains a brain-wide overview of the efferent neural projections from the orbitofrontal, posterior parietal and insular areas in the rat cerebral cortex. The density of axonal labelling in microscopic images of coronal tissue sections (shared via EBRAINS, see related resources) were semi-quantitatively scored using a 0-4 grading scale. The analysis includes 41 anterograde tract tracing experiments, with 49 tracer injections placed in subregions of the orbitofrontal, posterior parietal or the insular cortex. Microscopic images showing tracer labelling, registered to the Waxholm Space Rat Brain Atlas (v4), were used to evaluate the presence of labelling in 146 grey matter regions defined using the atlas. The results are provided in a table showing the maximum score for each brain region on the ipsilateral (right) side of the brain.
