The first heterobimetallic trihydride complex containing ruthenium and iridium having C5Me5 groups as ancillary ligands was synthesized, and its structure was determined by X-ray studies. The reactions of 3 with CH2CH2, PhC⋮CMe, and PhC⋮CPh proceed site-selectively.
