A mRNA motif mediates TGF-ß1 upregulation of NEU3 translation in human lung fibroblasts

To elucidate how TGF-ß1 regulates translation, we treated human lung fibroblasts (HLF) with TGF-ß1 and used RNA-seq to determine the effect of TGF-ß1 on total RNAs, and mRNA polysome/monosome ratios. Overall design: 4 human lung fibroblast (HLF) cell lines were treated with or without TGF-ß1, and total RNAs or mRNAs in monosome and polysome fractions were extracted and used for RNA-seq. Total RNA levels and Polysome/Monosome mRNA ratios were compared between control and TGF-ß1 treated samples.
