CTD casts equipped with a high-capacity, diaphragm pump were conducted during the R/V Pelican cruises in the northern Gulf of Mexico from 2003-07-30 to 2008-08-12. Plankton samples were collected from discrete depths during the CTD casts. Subsamples of sample contents were manually counted, identified, and measured in the laboratory. Samples were collected during R/V Pelican cruises PE03-NGOMEX (2003-07-30 - 2003-08-04); PE04-NGOMEX (2004-07-30 - 2004-08-01); PE06-NGOMEX (2006-08-04 - 2006-08-11); PE07-NGOMEX (2007-07-31 - 2007-08-07); and PE09-05 (2008-08-11 - 2008-08-12).
