Small RNA-seq of chronic pancreatitis patient plasma samples

The purpose of our study was to identify miRNAs that can predict islet transplantation outcomes. We hypothesize that miRNAs may be used to predict islet function post-transplantation in TPIAT patients Overall design: There are 24 samples. 6 are healthy controls; 18 are chronic pancreatitis. There are no replicates. The pacreatitis samples are classified based on aetiology of chronic pancreatitis into the following-Idiopathic, Alcoholic, Hereditary, Oddi dysfunciton, pancreatic divisum. The objectives are to identify miRNAs that can be correlated to islet transplantation outcomes. Since the normal healthy donor samples were not part of the transplantation, the normal samples will be used as control for miRNAs. Only those miRNAs that are not measured in normal healthy conditions will be taken further for investigations
