An eye-typing experiment was conducted with able-bodied participants. The eye-typing is implemented using smooth-pursuit eye movements. The experiment was conducted in two sessions for every participant, one session in the morning and one session in the afternoon. Each session consisted of two trials. The trials had varying difficulty levels, to generate cognitive load and thereby induce mental fatigue. Before and after every session, the participants reported their fatigue level. The effect of time of day and time-on-task on mental fatigue is investigated. Eye-tracking data was collected during the eye-typing experiment. The performance of smooth-pursuit eye movements and the effect of mental fatigue is examined. The files included in the dataset are -- (1) self-reported values on mental fatigue, physical fatigue and sleepiness, (2) eye-typing performance metrics on trial duration, typing speed and corrected error rate, (3) smooth-pursuit gaze deviation and (4) smooth-pursuit gaze deviation and velocity gain. The metadata common to all the files is a unique subject identifier, session number, session type (morning followed by afternoon, MA, or afternoon followed by morning, AM), session time (morning, M, or afternoon, A), trial number or time of report and alertness score.
