Genome-wide Characterization of Endogenous Retroviral Envelope Genes Across Primate Lineages Reveals Evolutionary Diversity and Recombination
收藏资源简介:
The dataset contains 32 computationally reconstructed ancestral human endogenous retroviral envelope proteins (Env). The sequences were generated from alignments of HERV env loci extracted from the human reference genome (GRCh38), guided by previously reported HERV consensus sequences, reference Env proteins, and conserved Env domains. For each HERV group, env loci were aligned, translated, and evaluated to identify the most appropriate coding frame. Conserved Env features, including signal peptide, surface (SU), and transmembrane (TM) domains, were used to validate reconstructed proteins. The resulting representative Env sequences were used for comparative evolutionary analyses of endogenous and exogenous retroviruses across primate genomes. The dataset includes Env protein sequences in FASTA format and supports the analyses presented in the manuscript "Genome-wide Characterization of Endogenous Retroviral Envelope Genes Across Primate Lineages Reveals Evolutionary Diversity and Recombination".
