Direct utilization of long-chain fatty acid for methane production by thermophilic Archaeoglobi

Here, using long-chain fatty acids as substrates, we demonstrated the conversion of long-chain fatty acids to methane by a novel archaeon, Candidatus Methanoglobus sphaerolipidus, enriched from the Tengchong hot spring sediments.
