Protists in lagoons of the Solomon Islands. aquatic metagenome

This study investigates the eukaryotic microbial diversity in lagoon waters of the Solomon Islands. The sample sites were unique, in that while nutrient levels such as inorganic phosphate and nitrate plus nitrite were typical of oligotrophic oceanic water, the concentration of chlophyll a was more akin to that of meso- to eutrophic seawater. The V4 and V8-V9 regions of the small subunit rRNA gene were sequenced. The reads provided have been dereplicated, with only reads occurring more than once included in this data set (the number of occurences of a sequence is given by "_sizeXXXX"). Chimeric reads have been removed. Each lagoon (Nirasa and New Georgia) was sampled at four locations, as indicated by "Zone1", "Zone2", etc.
