Gene expression of cardiomyocytes exposed to L-lactate

We evaluated the effect of L-lactate supplementation in cell culture media on cardiomyocyte gene expression Human iPSC were differentiated to cardiomyocytes until day 15. Three biological replicates were incubated with 6mM of L-lactate in cell culture media for 7 days, while three more replicates were incubated with L-lactate and 1mM of α-Cyano-4-hydroxycinnamic acid (α-CHC), an inhibitor of the lactate transporter MCT1. Three replicates of untreated cardiomyocytes were used as gene expression control.
