NRS-18704 | Register of Admissions [Mullumbimby High School]

Admission registers recorded basic details about children admitted to the school as well as information about their parents or guardians. The registers also record the progress of the children through various classes and the date of their leaving the school. The early volumes of this series have separate pages for girls and boys; in later volumes the genders are not separated.These volumes contain information pertaining to each student including: date of admission; pupil's name; date of birth; religious denomination; name of previous school and date of leaving. The pupil's date of admission to each subsequent grade, date of leaving the school and any occupation entered into on leaving school is also recorded. In early volumes, the following details are recorded about the child's parents or guardians: name, residence and occupation; later volumes record only the father's, mother's or guardian's name.In 1984 a fully typed register was created that included all students who had enrolled since 1979 and who were still at the school; this register continued in use until 1989.  This register partly duplicates the two hand-written registers used between 1979 and 1984.Admission registers in paper format ceased in approximately 1995 when transfer to the Office Administration System in Schools (OASIS) commenced.
