Improving Dermatomyositis Rehabilitation Through Individualized Plyometrics and Multidimensional Training

This randomized controlled trial evaluated a 12-week multidimensional assessment-guided rehabilitation program for 60 dermatomyositis patients in recovery. The intervention group (n=30) received personalized muscle strength training and nursing care based on systematic evaluations of muscle strength (MMT), daily living activities, and quality of life, while the control group (n=30) received standard care. Post-intervention, the intervention group demonstrated clinically meaningful improvements: a 1.7-point increase in MMT scores (p<0.001), alongside significantly enhanced daily living capacity and quality of life compared to controls (all p<0.05). The findings highlight that structured multidimensional assessment enables targeted rehabilitation planning, addressing critical limitations of conventional one-size-fits-all approaches. By objectively quantifying functional deficits and progress, this strategy optimizes neuromuscular recovery and psychosocial adaptation during rehabilitation. The results support integrating systematic evaluation frameworks into clinical practice to personalize care pathways, potentially reducing long-term disability risks and improving cost-effectiveness in autoimmune myopathy management. This evidence-based approach establishes a replicable model for enhancing functional outcomes in chronic inflammatory myopathies.
