Data on chemical and pharmacological characteristics of simplicia and ethanol extract of Moringa oleifera leaves

Moringa oleifera is a medicinal plant that has long been known and used by the community to prevent and treat various diseases and health problems. In this study, we characterized M. oleifera leaves simplicia as basic information regarding the quality and safety of a medicinal substance. Furthermore, we also report on the phytochemical profile and active compound content of M. oleifera leaves ethanol extract as well as its pharmacological properties as an antioxidant. The data obtained on the characteristics of M. oleifera leaves simplicia were compared with the standards set by the Indonesian Herbal Pharmacopoeia. The ethanol extract of M. oleifera leaves contains flavonoids, tannins, and steroids. LCMS analysis LCMS analysis found that there were 39 active compounds in the ethanol extract of Moringa leaves. The extract also contains total phenolics and flavonoids which show antioxidant activity.辣木（Moringa oleifera）是一种长期以来被民众熟知并用于预防和治疗多种疾病与健康问题的药用植物。本研究对辣木叶单味生药进行了表征，以获取其作为药用物质的质量与安全性相关基础信息。此外，本研究还报道了辣木叶乙醇提取物的植物化学特征谱、活性化合物组成，以及其作为抗氧化剂的药理学特性。本研究将辣木叶单味生药的各项特征数据与《印尼草药药典》（Indonesian Herbal Pharmacopoeia）制定的标准进行了比对分析。辣木叶乙醇提取物含有黄酮类、鞣质类及甾类化合物。液相色谱-质谱联用（LCMS）分析显示，辣木叶乙醇提取物中共检出39种活性化合物。该提取物还含有总酚类与总黄酮类成分，二者均表现出抗氧化活性。
