We have found that PRMT5 methylates BCL6 and is needed for its full transcriptional repressor activity. Concomitant inhibition of both BCL6 and PRMT5 exhibits synergistic killing of BCL6-expressing lymphoma cells. SUDHL6 cells were treated with DMSO or the PRMT5 inhibitor, GSK591, for 24 and 96 h. Total RNA was harvested from cells after vehicle or GSK591 treatment and used for expression profiling via mRNA-seq.
