VPRS 14444 Summary Cards, Closer Settlement Blocks, Vacated or Lease Cancelled, Northern Victoria

The cards in this series come from the Northern area of Victoria from the Land Districts of Kerang, Echuca and Bendigo. The cards are those for closer settlement blocks which had been vacated by the settler or where the conditional purchase lease had been cancelled.Details are given of the name of the last lessee, the allotment and section, parish, estate, area and the district (whether it was irrigable or not irrigable). File numbers for the land and for advances are also recorded. Comprehensive notes are given regarding the history of the block prior to the vacancy and since the vacancy as well as a description of the improvements made to it, the carrying capacity and the availability of water and other matters such as roads and schools. Particulars of the last valuation are given as well as the supervisor's classification of whether it was a living area and of what type.
