ulcerative colitis inhibited by polysaccharide TP2 in an undegraded form

Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the colon and rectum. And TP2 is a capsular polysaccharide exacted from Bacteroides fragilis ZY-132. This study focused on the pharmacokinetics of TP2. We investigated the anti-inflammatory effects of different doses of TP2 on the DNBS-induced enteritis model to find an appropriate dosage for pharmacokinetic studies. In pharmacokinetic studies, we found that TP2 was mainly distributed in the cecum and colorectum, and cannot be digested by gastrointestinal juice in vitro, but change the abundance of the intestinal flora.
