Additional file 2: Table S2. List of genes whose expression increases Saccharomyces cerevisiae tolerance to 14 mM butyric acid based on the screening of the Euroscarf deletion mutant collection; the elimination of the indicated genes increases yeast susceptibility to butyric acid. The description of the encoded protein functions is based on the information at SGD. The susceptibility phenotype of each single deletion mutant was scored, after 48 h as (+) if the mutant strain showed, compared with the parental strain, a slight to moderate growth inhibition, and (++) if no growth was observed.
