Database for the surveillance of non-EU Cicadomorpha, vectors of Xylella fastidiosa, in the EU

This database was prepared in the context of the EFSA mandate on plant pest surveillance (M-2020-0114), at the request of the European Commission. It provides open access to the available information on life cycle, native range, climate suitability, host plants, spread capacity and detection and identification methods of 48 non-EU Cicadomorpha taxa, known to be vectors of Xylella fastidiosa (Wells et al.), regulated as Union quarantine pests in Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/2072. This database is intended to be used in conjunction with the EFSA pest survey cards on non-EU leafhoppers and treehoppers and non-EU spittlebugs. A guide for selecting the appropriate card is also available.
