Bibliometric Dataset and R Analysis Code for Global Research on Dirofilaria repens (1955–2025)

This repository provides the bibliometric dataset and associated R analysis code supporting the article "Global Research Trends in Emerging Zoonosis Due to (the Filarial Nematode) Dirofilaria repens (1955–2025): A Bibliometric Analysis of a Climate-Driven Expansion", published in Pathogens (2026, 15(4), 386; DOI: 10.3390/pathogens15040386). The study examines the temporal evolution, scientific productivity, international collaboration, thematic development, and conceptual structure of global research on Dirofilaria repens between 1955 and 2025. Bibliographic records were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection and Scopus in January 2026. Following database integration, deduplication, eligibility assessment, and metadata normalization, the final analytical corpus comprised 624 documents. The dataset contains bibliographic metadata, including publication years, authors, affiliations, publication sources, citations, abstracts, keywords, and standardized identifiers, where available. The accompanying R code documents bibliometric analyses conducted using the bibliometrix package, including scientific production indicators, source analysis, international collaboration patterns, keyword co-occurrence, thematic mapping, thematic evolution, multiple correspondence analysis, and hierarchical clustering. The deposited materials are intended to support methodological transparency, independent verification, and further bibliometric research on emerging zoonotic diseases within the One Health framework.
