Abstract: This lecture by Dr. Jones A. Shulman of the Emory University School of Medicine deals with Legionnaires' disease, one of a group of newly recognized infectious diseases. Dr. Shulman talks about the discovery of the disease, its magnitude, and its effects on the body, explaining the interaction between the host, the infectious organism Legionella pneumophilia, and the environment.
