Mopeds; type of vehicle, fuel, year of manufacture, 1 January, 2007-2022

This table contains information on all vehicles with a valid Dutch moped registration according to the stand on 1 January of each year. The data are based on information from the RDW vehicle register. Registration for these vehicles has been mandatory since 1 September 2005. Of all Dutch mopeds and mopeds, the technical data of the vehicle and the personal data of the owner/holder are recorded. With the help of this registration, counts were made, broken down according to characteristics of the vehicle (type, year of construction and fuel type). The number of speed pedelecs on 1 January 2022 is 2.0 percent of the total number of vehicles with a moped registration. About two-thirds of the speed pedelecs are included in the mopeds and a third in the mopeds. As of reporting year 2020, electric brommobiles have also been included in the category of brommobiles. Before that time, these electric vehicles were included in the category Other vehicles with a moped registration.
