This is a compilation of whale shark stranding datasets in Indonesia from 2011 to 2023. The data were collected using keyword-based data mining on Google, utilizing local, national, and English keywords—such as hiu paus terdampar, hiu tutul terdampar, hiu totol terdampar, hiu terdampar, paus terdampar, whale shark terdampar, whale shark stranded, and whale shark stranding—to maximize the amount of data and information retrieved. NOTE: Several documentation links used to verify stranding reports are no longer accessible, primarily those hosted on government websites that have since been replaced or redesigned.
