POLLEN, PHYTOLITH, AND STARCH ANALYSIS OF A METATE FRAGMENT FROM THE DANIELSON RANCH SITE (CA-VEN-395), VENTURA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA

A metate from site CA-VEN-395, a multicomponent site exhibiting prehistoric and historic occupation in the Santa Monica Mountains, was submitted for pollen, phytolith, and starch analysis to assess use of this grinding tool for grinding plant resources.一件采自CA-VEN-395遗址的石磨盘（metate），该遗址地处圣塔莫尼卡山脉，是一处兼具史前与历史时期人类活动遗存的多组分遗址。为评估该研磨工具用于研磨植物资源的相关情况，本次将该标本送检，开展孢粉（pollen）、植硅体（phytolith）与淀粉粒（starch）分析。
