This is the fourth annual report for exploration activities on EPM26050 “Silver Phantom”, which was granted to Rio Tinto Exploration Pty Limited (RTX) on 13th October 2016 to explore for IOCG-style Cu mineralisation.

Known mineral occurrences within the tenement are largely hosted in metasedimentary or metavolcanics xenoliths surrounded by Wimberu Granite (e.g. Silver Phantom, Silver Spur, Mount Devoncourt). Work during the current year of tenure aimed at assessing the potential for mineralisation within the granite itself and consisted of broad spaced termite sampling and rock chip sampling.

During the reporting period Termite samples from Silver Phantom show strong copper anomalism over the sedimentary/volcanic xenoliths, while samples from the surrounding granite are generally low. Rock chip samples taken from the various granite phases also confirmed visual observations that the granite is unaltered. The potential for granite-hosted mineralisation at Silver Phantom is therefore downgraded.

An airborne gravity gradiometer survey was also completed, covering the whole of EPM26050, as part of a larger program. Results were not significantly different from previous magnetic and gravity surveys.
