Meteor Data Set of 205 MHz ST Radar

Orionid Meteor Shower Observations (2019 & 2020) Using CUSAT ST RadarThis dataset presents meteor echo observations captured during the Orionid meteor showers in October 2019 and 2020, using the 205 MHz Stratosphere-Troposphere (ST) Radar located at ACARR, Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), Kerala, India. The radar comprises 619 Yagi\u2013Uda antennas, configured to capture atmospheric echoes in the mesosphere-lower thermosphere (MLT) region, typically between 80 and 130 km altitude.The dataset includes detailed Range-Time-Intensity (RTI) plots, these data reveal periods of enhanced meteor activity corresponding to the expected peak of the Orionids (~October 21), with multiple high-intensity head and trail echoes observed.The observations are relevant for investigating meteor influx characteristics, echo morphology, and potential interactions with ionospheric irregularities, including possible sporadic E-layer formations. The dataset supports further study into atmospheric dynamics and meteoroid-atmosphere interactions over the equatorial Indian region.
