# Population Evolution by Age Groups in Latin America (2000-2023): Dataset by Country and Age Cohort

## Dataset Description

This dataset contains data on the population evolution by age groups in 11 Latin American countries for the years 2000, 2010, 2020 and 2023. Countries included: Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay. Age groups analyzed: 0-14 years (children and adolescents), 15-24 years (youth), 25-54 years (working-age adults), 55-64 years (early older adults) and 65+ years (older adults). The dataset includes: total population in millions, percentage of each age group over total population, and estimated absolute population in thousands for each age bracket. Data reflects the clear demographic transition in the region: sustained decrease in the 0-14 group (from ~33% average in 2000 to ~24% in 2023) and increase in the 65+ group (from ~5.5% to
