Supplementary Data for "Princesses and Cosmetic Bags? Reassessing Gender and Cosmetic Stereotypes in Three Decades of Pazyryk Scholarship"

This dataset accompanies the article "Princesses and Cosmetic Bags? Reassessing Gender and Cosmetic Stereotypes in Three Decades of Pazyryk Scholarship" (KIM Minh, 2026), submitted to Documenta Praehistorica. The dataset comprises two Excel files: (1) Supplementary_1_Database.xlsx — the full coded database of 162 publications sampled across six tiers: Tier 1a (Polosmak excavation team publications, n = 14), Tier 1b (English-language peer-reviewed scholarship, n = 40), Tier 2 (institutional and museum sources, n = 23), Tier 4 (major media from five English and five Russian outlets, n = 40), artifact terminology coding records, and the aggregate master summary. The sample spans 1993–2026 and covers both English (n = 105) and Russian (n = 57) language sources. (2) Supplementary_2_StatisticalTables.xlsx — the seven statistical tables reporting sample composition, frequency distributions, chi-square tests of linguistic asymmetry (χ² = 40.37, p < .001, Cramér's V = .50), temporal trend analyses (Cochran-Armitage z = 2.27, p = .023), logistic regression results (OR = 13.80 for English-language sources), co-occurrence matrices, and Polosmak baseline versus external source comparisons. The dataset permits independent verification of all statistical results reported in the article and supports replication of the discourse-analytic procedure.
