Chinese national-scale dataset of non-metal open-pit mining areas

This dataset, available on Figshare, is the official dataset for the paper titled "Chinese national-scale dataset of non-metal open-pit mining areas." It includes 29,122 vectors that cover approximately 2,986 square kilometers of non-metallic open-pit mining areas across China. Compiled using high-resolution remote-sensing imagery and processed through the YOLOv5 deep learning model, each vector in the dataset delineates various mining-related features such as waste dumps, storage yards, and mining sites. The data is formatted in shapefile format and utilizes the GCS_WGS_1984 coordinate system, ensuring compatibility with geographic information system (GIS) software like ArcGIS, QGIS, R, and Python.
