Sat-SKOG is an overview map of the forest resources and provides information on wood species, volume and age. The interpretation is based on image data from the Earth observation satellites Landsat 5 and -7. The images are compiled with samples from Landsskogtaksering, map data from AR5 and the terrain model DTM. Age is measured in number of years, while the SAT-SKOG maps show only three year classes: Young forest (0 to 40 years), Older Forest (41 to 80 years), and Old Forest (over 80 years).
