The Political Polarization Analysis Dataset was developed by Carnegie Mellon University, with the goal of analyzing polarization within the U.S. political system using language models. This dataset includes information on political figures spanning the past 120 years, extracted from Wikipedia. It is divided into two core sections: background information and political information, and further subdivided into four distinct historical periods to examine evolving trends in political polarization. Having been cleaned to mitigate biases, the dataset is suitable for analyzing the polarization levels of political candidates and their temporal shifts. This dataset not only helps voters understand the political stances of candidates, but also provides a valuable resource for the research community to study political polarization.
