Rbfox2 is necessary for cardiovascular development

Purpose: The goal of this study is to investigate the role of Rbfox2, an RNA binding protein in cardiovascular development. Methods: RNA-Seq splicing analysis of mouse embryonic heart at embryonic day 9.5, isolated from control and genetic deletion of either one or both allels of Rbfox2 using Nkx2-5 Cre. Overall design: Rbfox2 was deleted from early cardiovascular linease by crossing Rbfox2 floxed mice with Nkx2-5 Cre mice. Effect of Rbfox2 knock-down on alternative splicing and mRNA expression was compared between Control, heterozygous knock-out and homozygous knock-out.
