The grafting is effective technique to enhance fruit flavor, however contradict reports in literature regarding fruit quality. Here we use transcriptome analysis in combination with metabolome to reveal molecular mechanism of fruit flavor formation in melons grafted onto two pumpkin rootstock during four fruit developmental stages.
