资源简介:
A cross-sectional study that enrolled adolescent and young women, ages 12 through 24, to evaluate the prevalence and severity of morphologic and metabolic abnormalities and to assess the drug and non-drug factors related to these abnormalities. The study assessed differences in glucose metabolism, lipids, lactate, body composition, and bone density between HIV infected and uninfected young women to understand the pathophysiological effects of protease inhibitor (PI)- and non-nucleoside analogue reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI)-based therapies in young females. One study visit conducted over 1 or more days included survey questionnaires, DEXA scanning, anthropometric measurements, and blood tests examining lactate, glucose, and lipid metabolism. Biospecimens are available.
