This dataset contains the data from a randomised controlled trial which examined a hybrid model for observing and deconstructing live expert classroom practice, within the context of the Intensive Training and Practice [ITaP] policy in Initial Teacher Education (ITE) in England. Participants were trainees from the National Institute of Teaching's ITE programme specialising in secondary education, who experienced both hybrid and in-person school visit days. Trainees were tested at baseline and endline on their (i) understanding of the evidence base (measured via quizzes), (ii) ability to prepare and apply knowledge (measured via lesson plans and digital approximations) and (iii) self-efficacy (measured via surveys), in relation to the focus of the ITaP modules. This dataset contains the anonymised trainee data and R code for data analysis, along with a detailed key of dataset variables.
