Geotechnical examination of 180 m of core recovered in Pigmy Basin at Site 619 in the Gulf of Mexico indicates that excess pore-water pressures are present in the lower section of the hole. Shear strength-vertical effective stress relationships and consolidation testing (oedometer) indicate that the sediments are normally consolidated in the upper 30 m and underconsolidated below. The presence of gas within the pore waters greatly affected the measurements of shear strength, water content, and porosity in the interval between 80 and 160 m sub-bottom.对墨西哥湾619站位侏儒盆地（Pigmy Basin）所获取的180米岩芯开展的岩土勘察结果显示，钻孔下段存在超孔隙水压力。抗剪强度-竖向有效应力关系与固结试验（固结仪，oedometer）表明，该钻孔上部30米的沉积物为正常固结状态，下部沉积物则处于欠固结状态。孔隙水中赋存的气体对海底以下80米至160米层段的抗剪强度、含水量与孔隙度测量结果造成了显著影响。
