Dataset for Loh et al 2026 Neuroimage - Ventral temporal-frontal pathways in the human brain based on diffusion MRI tractography The shared files are organised as two zipped folders: ProbMaps_26Dec2025 contains spatial probability maps for the left and right uncinate fasciculus (UF), dTFexcF (dorsal temporal-frontal extreme capsule fasciculus) and the vTFexcF (ventral temporal-frontal extreme capsule fasciculus). The probability maps are constructed in MNI ICBM152 2009c nonlinear asymmetric standard space. The UF, dTFexcF and vTFexcF probability maps are constructed from 13, 16 and 15 healthy subjects respectively. ExtractionROIs_11June2025 contains the cortical ROIs for the reconstruction of the left and right UF, dTFexcF and vTFexcF in MNI ICBM152 2009c nonlinear asymmetric standard space. For each tract, the frontal and temporal termination cortical ROIs are provided in the respective hemispheres. To extract each tract (e.g. left UF) from your tractogram, load the respective frontal (UF_Frontal_L_roi_2009c.nii.gz) and temporal (UF_Temporal_L_roi_2009c.nii.gz) cortical ROIs and use them as termination ROIs. Load the temporal stem ROI (Disk_temporalstem_L_26May.roi) to filter streamlines that pass through the temporal stem (the white matter connecting the frontal and temporal cortex passing under the insula).
