Danish Gallup Omnibus Data, 1970 comprises 11 omnibus surveys carried out by the Danish Gallup Institute in 1970. # #Each survey contains a number of demographic variables common to all the surveys of that year, as well as a number of questions dealing with topical events. This data material contains information from all the omnibuses concerning the questions common to them. # #The questions common to all 1970 omnibuses are: degree of urbanization; sex; age; marital status; number of persons in household (children/adults, over/under 15); occupational status of head of household; total income of family; the respondent's occupational status; the respondent's educational status; the respondent's income; position in household of respondent and spouse; occupational status of housewife; social class; type of dwelling; and party preference. # #The special questions deal with such issues as: # #Omnibus no. 01 (DDA-1315): #Danish membership of the EC (provided that Great Britain joins the EC simultaneously); development aid (the 1% target); assessment of the TV opera 'En Nat i Venedig' (One Night in Venice); influenza and vaccination against influenza; inflammation of the throat; colds; public transport; assessment of the TV serial 'Pippi Langstrømpe' (Pippi Longstocking) and the effects of 'Pippi Langstrømpe' on children; dogs in household; TV in household; and attitudes to the proposed Nordic Economic Union. # #Omnibus no. 02 (DDA-1316): #Housing shortage; rent; housing conditions; knowledge of the political debate on housing; house owners and tax deductions; valuation of property; expectations of Denmark's economic situation in 1971; economic tightening; attitudes to the P.A.Y.E. tax system; attitudes to taxes; the present two settling periods (July and December) versus current payment of debts; and attitudes to abotion (legal/criminal). # #Omnibus no. 03 (DDA-1317): #Assessment of the TV opera 'Lulu'; assessment of the satirical TV shows 'Hov-Hov' (Hey-Now); attitudes to recent strikes; TV in household; housing shortage; housing conditions; rent; knowledge of the political debate on housing; house owners and tax deductions; and valuation of property. # #Omnibus no. 04 (DDA-1318): #Attitudes to Flemming Madsen's TV programmes 'Søndagsmagasinet' (The Sunday Magazine); dogs in household; opening hours in shops; attitudes to the proposed Shops Act; summer holiday plans; and holiday destination. # #Omnibus no. 05 (DDA-1319): #Assessment of the USA and the USSR and the 'terror balance'; attitudes to Israel and the Arab states; lowering of the electoral age to 18 or to 20; the VKR (i.e. the Liberal Party, the Conservative People's Party and the Radical Liberal Party) coalition Government, and the respective influence of the 3 parties on Government policies; assessment of Danish political parties and their views on unemployment, social security, salaried employees and economy; attitudes to the P.A.Y.E. tax system; and cost of living allowances versus tax reliefs. # #Omnibus no. 06 (DDA-1320): #Blood donors; the present two settling periods (July and December) versus current payment of debts; knowledge of and attitudes to the Marriage Act; political solutions to Denmark's economic problems; attitudes to VAT; and attitudes to the abolition of the Pornography Act. # #Omnibus no. 08 (DDA-1321): #Denmark: monarchy versus republic; attitudes to mentally deficient persons being allowed to marry; important political problems which must be solved (housing/economy/pollution/traffic/social welfare/ health service/development aid); attitudes to equal pay for equal work; and attitudes to homosexual marriages. # #Omnibus no. 09 (DDA-1322): #Attitudes to the alleged political (left wing/right wing) bias of TV correspondents and newsreaders; length of the TV News; attitudes to old people; the problems of old age; attitudes to the economic policy of the Social Democratic Party; attitudes to the Government's economic policy; and attitudes to foreign labour (i.e. guest workers) in Denmark. # #Omnibus no. 10 (DDA-1323): #Attitudes to the youth revolt; the possibility of a non-Socialist government after the next general election; knowledge of and attitudes to hashish; drugs (morphine/heroin) versus hashish; attitudes to the legalization of hashish; attituddes to Denmark's membership of NATO; Danish membership of the EC (provided that Great Britain joins the EC simultaneously); attitudes to the UN and to a UN peacekeeping force of 100,000 soldiers; and attitudes to the Government's economic policy. # #Omnibus no. 11 (DDA-1324): #Retrenchment; government preference; important political problems which must be solved (housing/economy/pollution/social welfare/health service/development aid); assessment of the satirical TV shows 'Hov-Hov' (Hey-Now); attitudes to income tax; groups which are treated unfairly in society or groups which are given too much preference; assessment of the Flemming Madsen and Jacob Nielsen TV programmes 'I Dag Søndag' (Today's Sunday); and TV in household. # #Omnibus no. 12 (DDA-1325): #Expectations of 1971 (prices, unemployment, labour unrest, economy, living standards, peace in the world, the power of the USSR, the USA and China); TV and radio in household; assessment of last night's programmes; knowledge of and attitudes to the dispute between Minister of Education Helge Larsen and Danish students; attitudes to homosexuals; attitudes to drug addicts;
