Dataset to Observing open innovation arrangements: Conceptual and methodological reflections from a scoping review of mapping approaches

Dataset 1: Final coding answerDataset 1 contains the reconciled coding responses for 26 reviewed articles across 24 questions covering methodological and results dimensions of mapping activities, reflecting the final answers agreed upon after two independent coders (C1 and C2) resolved any disagreements with a third coder. Dataset 2: Categorization Dataset 2 contains each article's assigned purpose category (Understanding, Application, Characterization, Documentation), alongside the raw activity objective and purpose-of-mapping responses from both coders, and the keywords used to classify each article into its category.Dataset 3: Coding by categorizationDataset 3 contains the same final coding data as Dataset 1, but with an added "Category" column at the front that groups articles by their purpose typology, enabling analysis of methodological patterns within and across categories.
