Gift homes

The flood of 1953 led to a disaster of unprecedented magnitude. Thousands of homes and farms were damaged, irreparably destroyed or completely washed away. From the end of 1953, hundreds of prefabricated “gift houses” rose up in different villages and cities. The gift homes were from Norway, Sweden, Austria, Denmark, Finland and France. In 2020, an inventory was carried out to the present-day gift homes. We also looked at the status of the homes.
