Utah Trail Network Master Plan

This layer contains statewide Utah Trail Network (UTN) alignments that represent existing and proposed trail corridors compiled through the Utah Trail Network planning initiative. The data were collected and standardized from multiple local and regional trail inventories by Alta Planning + Design in coordination with UDOT. Source Information: The data were sourced from regional trail datasets, local agency plans, local workshops, and the Utah Department of Transportation’s GIS repositories. Trail names and statuses were reviewed and standardized to align with UTN project naming conventions. Data Refresh Rate: The dataset is updated as needed to reflect new or revised trail projects submitted by partners and verified by UDOT. The most recent update was completed in October 2025. Data Fields and Descriptions: Trail_Name: Name of the trail segment or official project name. Trail_Status: Indicates whether the trail is existing or proposed. UTN_Flag: Identifies whether the segment meets the Utah Trail Network criteria. UDOT_Region: Corresponding UDOT administrative region. UTN_ProjectType: Classification of the project type (e.g., Base Network, Gap Closure, etc.). Miles: Segment length in miles.
