Expansion of P-T Space of Transition Metal Halides

Certain transition metal halides have been discussed in the literature as ideal systems for investigating magnetic behaviors and phenomena due to their tendency to form molecular materials with high degrees of magnetic anisotropy. Such materials have shown great interest to communities investigating molecular magnetic materials for their potential applications within the quantum information science sphere. Initially, this proposal seeks to expand the known pressure-temperature (P-T) space of chosen transition metal halides. Further, we look to investigate the effects of elevated pressures and temperatures on (1) the electronic structures of, and (2) exchange interactions between, transition metal halides, the likes of which may have immediate impact on their magnetic behaviors.
